The following list includes a few festivals that will be held in Virginia for the 2011 Labor Day weekend.

Labor Day at Glen Maury Park offers great food, live entertainment all day and lots of family-fun! The festival serves as the kickoff for Virginia's fall political campaigns.

American Music Festival
Virginia Beach Oceanfront

The American Music Festival in Virginia Beach showcases rock, jazz, country, blues, R&B and more. For 2011, the event will be held over Labor Day Weekend along the Virginia Beach oceanfront.

2011 Virginia Earthquake

According to a Preliminary Earthquake Report from the U.S. Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center, a magnitude 5.9 earthquake occurred in Virginia on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 01:51:03 PM.

The epicenter of the quake was reported to be 37.975°N, 77.969°W, which is approximately 27 miles E of Charlottesville, 34 miles SW of Fredericksburg, 39 miles NW of Richmond and 50 miles NNE of Farmville, Virginia.

Square Dancing in Virginia Beach

The Thalia Thumpers and Riptides Square Dance Clubs will be hosting a fun evening of dance at the Open House Dance on September 10, 2011, at Point of View Elementary School, 5400 Parliament Drive Virginia Beach.

Dancing begins at 7:30. No Square Dancing experience is necessary and there is no charge for this event.

Crown Record recording artists and Square Dance Callers, Bob and Matt Worley, will show the new dancers the steps, and experienced dancers will be on hand to help guide the way.

Also featured will be demonstrations of regular club level square dancing by the more experienced dancers. Dancing is open to everyone from 10 to 100, and the fun starts at 7:30PM. Singles, couples, and families are all invited out to the Open House
